Table router
It's basically a fixed cnc spindle, controlled with a VFD. The front panel on the left let you start/stop and select the speed, from 8000 rpm to 24 000 rpm.
The dust collection is on the right, so the pipe fit nicely under the table and out of the way.
The new fence screw into the slots of the table and when not used, it's simply stored in the front of the machine, out of the way.
All the accessories are stored neatly on the drawer on the right side. You will find the wrench for tightening the collet nut,the different collects, insert ring and handle for raising the spindle.
WARNINGS: 1) for some reasons the motor break is not working between 85% and 100% of the rpm. So the spindle will turn for a long time when pressing the stop button. We will work on that. For now reduce the speed before stopping.
2) turning the main swith OFF will not trigger the motor break, always reduce the speed and press the red button.
3) always completely turn off the machine before changing the bits.
4) we are missing the 6 and 8 mm collet, we only have the imperial size for now. We can use the ones from the cnc for now.
5) always use the dust collection. There will be some improvement in the near future with an extra pipe going directly to the fence.
6) report if anything goes wrong
I will probably to an "open course" next Wednesday, where I will be in the woodshop and give introduction to the machine all evening.
In the meantime, it was a fun project building that and I hope you will all take great care of it.
