The following steps assumes you have prepared your Gcode from your favorite CAM software.

As an alternative, you can also use Makera CAM software. The steps are described here <<TODO>>

== Prepare your GCode ==
'''- Please refer this page for adding Carvera profile and post processor in Fusion 360, VCarve Desktop'''

https://github.com/MakeraInc/CarveraProfiles

== Install Controller software ==
The Controller software for Carvera Air will most likely be installed on a common computer or a tablet that is attached to the device. Until then or If you prefer to have it installed on your own computer, you can do so from https://github.com/MakeraInc/CarveraController

== Upload your GCode to Carvera Air ==
- Launch Carvera Controller software<gallery>
Fil:Controller.png
</gallery>

- If you are running for first time, you will need to search the machine name in WiFi. When you search, you will find it with the name '''''Makerspace_CarveraAir'''''

In this video, we are guided through uploading a GCode file to Carvera Air Desktop CNC by Makera! After designing a part and preparing it in CAM software, you will need to upload the exported GCode file to the Carvera Air to begin manufacturing. This is done through the Carvera Controller app, as all files are stored on the Carvera Air's internal memory as shown in this tutorial.

= Choosing Bits =

In this video, we look at the different types of bits, also known as cutting tools, that you might consider for your CNC Project. Bits are what perform the cutting operations when manufacturing our projects, and choosing the correct bit to perform the type of cut we want on the material we are using is key. This video overviews the commonly used milling bits that are provided with the Carvera and Carvera Air, as well as some specialty bits for more complex projects too!

<youtube>hccjn5_Wnwc</youtube>

= Choosing Stock =

Stock is the term used to describe the material we used to manufacture our CNC projects. Versatile desktop CNC machines like the Carvera and Carvera Air can work with a wide range of materials, including woods, acrylic, composites, metals, and even printed circuit boards! As you choose the right stock for your project, there are some key considerations like choosing the right bits and speeds and feeds as well as needs for external cooling that will contribute towards the success of your project. This video also discusses the good practice for performing test cuts as we start a new project
<youtube>WUZIIvb-mHE</youtube>

= How to change the tool =

In this video, we are guided through using the Quick Tool Change System on the Carvera Air Desktop CNC by Makera! The Air is equipped with a unique tool change system which allows for users to connect an easily swap the bit (also known as a cutting tool) on their CNC

<youtube> IaVHlaHvsBk </youtube>

= Manual - How to change Spindle Collet =
In this video, we are guided through changing the Spindle Collect on the Carvera Air Desktop CNC by Makera! Spindle Collet is the part of a CNC Spindle which that holds the bit. By changing the collet, you can change the diameter bit used for your CNC projects with the Carvera Air!

<youtube>ZFmA60eqgx0</youtube>

[[CarveraAir-Feeds&Speeds|Refer this page]]

= Wasteboard files =

If you want to cut out a new wasteboard to use, download dfx files from [https://www.printables.com/model/1162653-carvera-air-spoilboard/files here] and then use the lasercutter. Use 3-5mm mdf.
The Silhouette Cameo Pro MK-II is a large-format cutting machine with an expanded 24-inch cutting width, which can be fed with material on rolls as well as on adhesive mats. It is capable of cutting a wide range of materials, including vinyl, paper, cardstock, fabric, and thin leather. Additionally, a built-in cross cutter can cut roll stock for you at the end of a cutting session. Pen plotting is also possible using purpose-made or user-supplied pens.

This machine is especially suited for large jobs (> 12" in any direction) or when feeding vinyl directly from a roll. If you are going to cut or plot on thin/delicate materials like copy paper, anything rigid or too thick to be fed on rollers, or want special effects like embossing or engraving, consider using [[Cutting Machine Silhouette Curio 2|Silhouette Curio 2]] instead.

== Usage ==
=== Starting the Machine ===
Power on the machine by pressing and holding the power button on the right side.

=== Preparing the material feed ===

# Choose material: foil on a roll, or Cameo mat
## Roll: attach roll support under the front of the cutter, adjust width and place roll onto support
## Mat: remove roll support if needed, ''[mat attachment instructions pending]''

# Adjust the rollers so that the outermost ones sit close to the edge of the foil/mat, and the rest are evenly spaced across. ''If the mat twists as it is loading, check again that the outermost rollers are in a good place.''
# Push the material up against the intake
# Line up your material with the alignment indicator to the left of the intake
# Press ⌃ button at bottom edge to load material

=== Tool selection ===
# To change tools: pull forward on tool holder's protruding tab, lift the tool upward. Insert the new tool using the same procedure, in reverse.
# The all-white cutting tool is “auto depth” one, suitable for cutting when you are unsure of the exact settings.

=== Software preparation ===
# Start ''Silhouette Studio'' on the computer next to the cutting machines.
# Select Cameo Pro Mark 2 in the top right white box. It should say "ready" in green letters, if not, check that it's
## Turned on
## Connected via USB
## Has material loaded (try unloading and loading again)
# Open your design and adjust its size and placement.
# If using the Cameo grid mat for precise placement, select ''Cameo Mat'' from the options on the right side of the window, and adjust the transparency slider so you can see lines and numbers.

=== Cutting ===
# Click the '''SEND''' tab.
# Select the tool(s) you inserted and the material you are using.
# Adjust the force and cutting depth settings.
# For textile transfers, stencils, and use cases, choose '''Mirror''' (unless you have already mirrored your design, earlier in the process).
# Click '''Send'''.
# Your design will now be cut / drawn / engraved

=== Pausing/emergency stop ===
