Comb binder — Fellowes Galaxy-E 500
Electric punch, manual plastic-comb binder for A4 documents up to 500 sheets. Combs can be reopened to add or remove pages. Replaces the old wire ring binder.

Safety
Remove staples and paper clips before punching.
Fingers clear of the punch slot and comb mechanism.
Max 30 min on, 30 min off.
Unplug before cleaning. Don't open the casing.

Punch covers separately. A sheet of paper behind plastic covers gives cleaner holes.
How to use
Check the waste tray is empty and seated and the binding platform is fitted. Lift the lid, switch on at the back (green light).
Collate pages and covers. Choose a comb with the document measure in the comb tray.
Back margin: small setting for 2–150 sheets / combs ≤ 19 mm; large setting for 151–500 sheets.
Put the comb in the opener and pull the lever towards you to open it.
Set the edge guide. Test punch scrap paper and check the holes are centred.
Punch covers first, then pages in small aligned batches.
Hang covers and pages on the comb in order, front first. Push the lever back to close. Lift out.
Switch off, empty the waste tray, refit the binding platform, close the lid.
The binding platform lifts out so one person can bind while another punches.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Action |

Red overload light | Press the punch button repeatedly to reset; use smaller batches. |
Stops after long use | Thermal cut-out — let it cool. |
Holes off-centre | Adjust the edge guide, test on scrap. |
Ragged holes | Smaller batches; back plastic covers with paper. |
Pages don't turn | Comb size and margin setting. |
Clippings leak, punch blocked | Empty and refit the tray. Still blocked → report. |
Maintenance
Empty the waste tray after each session (at least every 50 punches). If its overflow flap opened, close it. Store flat with the lid closed.
