Water chillers — S&A TEYU CW-5200 and CW-3000
Two water chillers cooling the laser tube and the CNC spindle.
Chiller | Cools | Type |
|---|---|---|
Compressor: can cool below room temperature | ||
Radiator and fan only: cannot go below room temperature |
Both chillers contain 230 V AC and 24 V DC wiring, and it is not obvious which is which. Unplug before opening.

Cools with two fans, a radiator and a compressor. Below room temperature, condensation forms on the hoses; the chiller itself is insulated.
Coolant: 25 % glycol, the rest distilled or battery water.
Local modifications: new pump and 24 V DC adapter (November 2020); flow alarm circuit rebuilt with LEDs, a 12 V buzzer, a 24 V relay and an 80 mm cooling fan (January 2021).
Alarms
Two flow sensors (Hall sensors), one on each outlet, are wired in series, so both need flow.
Alarm | Cause |
|---|---|
Red lamp and buzzer | Blocked flow or faulty flow sensor |
"Alarm out" on the back | Blocked flow or faulty flow sensor. Flow alarms only, not temperature alarms. |
E1 | Room temperature too high |
E2 | Water temperature too high |
E3 | Water temperature too low |
E4 | Room temperature sensor fault |
E5 | Water temperature sensor fault, or water above 70 °C |
Display
Control panel
Buttons: RST, SET, ↑, ↓. RST confirms a new value; SET goes back without saving.
Change the temperature: press SET, adjust with ↑↓, confirm with RST. In intelligent mode this sets the difference between water and room temperature (F1); in constant mode it sets the water temperature (F0).
Parameters: hold SET + ↑ for 5 s until 0 shows, enter the password with ↑↓ (default 8), press SET. Pick a parameter with ↑↓ and SET, change it with ↑↓, confirm with RST. Leave the menu with RST.
Factory reset: before switching on, hold ↑ + ↓ until
rEshows; it resets after 6 seconds.
Parameter | Setting | Range |
|---|---|---|
F0 | Water temperature (constant mode) | F9–F8 |
F1 | Temperature difference (intelligent mode) | −15 to +5 |
F2 | Cooling hysteresis | 0.1–3.0 |
F3 | Mode | 1 intelligent, 0 constant |
F4 | High water temperature alarm | 1–20 |
F5 | Low water temperature alarm | 1–20 |
F6 | High room temperature alarm | 40–50 |
F7 | Password | 00–99, default 8 |
F8 | Max. water temperature | F0–40 |
F9 | Min. water temperature | 1–F0 |
Modified alarm circuit
Most 230 V cables are labelled. Red is generally positive; black and blue are neutral or negative.
The flow sensor signal (yellow wire) is 24 V at full flow and 0 V when blocked.
Buzzer: 7–15 V, 20 mA at 12 V, with a series resistor to drop it to about 12 V. 80 mm fan: 12 V, 120 mA. Two LEDs: about 10 mA. The resistors are rated higher than needed; the diagram gives the approximate minimum wattages.
Alarm circuit diagram
Relay JQX-13F 2Z5
Relay
Coil on pins 13 (signal, yellow) and 14 (24 V via the flow sensors, red).
Off: pins 1–9 and 4–12 connected. Energised: pins 5–9 and 8–12 connected.
Pin 12 carries 24 V for the lamps and buzzer, switched out on pin 4 or 8.
"Alarm out" on the back is wired to pins 1, 5 and 9.

Cools the water against room air with a fan and a coil. No compressor.
Alarms: flow alarm from one Hall sensor on the outlet; fixed alarm at 60 °C water temperature. "Alarm out" on the back appears to carry flow alarms only.
Wiring: original. The lamps are neon on 230 V AC.
