Desktop structured-light 3D scanner with a turntable, for small and medium objects.
EinScan SE with an object on the turntable
Location | Connected to the right-hand CAD station |
Software | EXScan |
Access | Free use |
Best for | Objects that fit on the turntable. Larger objects: use the EinStar. |
How to use
Choose a project folder on the local C: drive; network drives are too slow.
Put the object on the turntable.
Adjust the exposure until the brightest parts of the object just start showing red dots in the preview (top left).
Press start (the play symbol, top right). You can rotate the model on screen while it scans.
To delete stray data, hold Shift, select it and press Delete.
Turn the object over and scan again to get another project group.
When you have every side, use the puzzle-piece button (right) to align the groups: pick one from the upper list and one from the lower. Use manual align if auto align fails.
When everything is aligned, press Mesh (bottom right) and export as STL or OBJ.
Tips
The scanner can't capture black, shiny, mirror-like or transparent surfaces. Use a scanning spray such as AESUB. Baby powder or dry shampoo also work, but keep them well away from the scanner optics.
