Oscillating multi-tools
For small cut-outs, flush trimming, scraping and detail sanding. The photographs identify a corded Bosch PMF 180 E Multi and a cordless Bosch AdvancedMulti 18.
Pass the Wood room course; follow the room rules. This guide covers wood use here. No metal, stone or stone-like materials; check the room rules before considering other materials. Felder takes wood dust only. Manufacturer capabilities do not change room limits.
Choose and use an attachment
Choose a sound blade, scraper or sanding plate for the task. Secure work; check for nails, screws and hidden services. Keep hands clear above and below the cut. Plunge-cut only suitable soft materials with the correct blade.
Use low, even pressure and move the tool back and forth so the attachment does not overheat or jam. Keep ventilation slots clear. Fit suitable extraction for sanding. Switch off and wait for standstill before putting the tool down; attachments may remain hot.

Unplug before changing attachments, adjusting or cleaning. This older model uses a central screw and Allen key. Engage the accessory openings on the holder's cams, orient it for the work, tighten firmly and check secure seating. Match oscillation rate to the task with the thumbwheel and test on scrap. Use the correct older holder-compatible accessory; do not assume the AdvancedMulti's attachment system applies.

Remove the battery before accessory changes, adjustments, cleaning, transport or storage. Use suitable Starlock accessories. Fully open the AutoClic lever to eject the old attachment. Put the new accessory flat, depressed centre down, then press the tool onto it at the required angle until it clicks; check secure seating.
Choose oscillation rate with the thumbwheel. If the tool stops because the battery is flat or hot, switch it off before charging or cooling it and restarting. See the Bosch instructions, English pp. 15–23.
