Mynt3D 3D Pen Super
Hot tip and molten plastic burn. Rest the pen with the nozzle clear of the table. Unplug and let it cool before storing.
Handheld 3D pen for drawing plastic shapes, joining small parts and adding details. No computer needed. Replaces the old 3Doodler (wrong filament diameter).

Controls
Control | Function |
|---|---|
Feed (nearer the nozzle) | Press once to heat; hold to feed; double-click for continuous feed |
Withdraw (further back) | Hold to unload |
Either button, single click | Stop continuous feed |
Speed slider | Feed speed — start slow |
Red light | Power |
Green light | Flashing = heating, steady = ready |
How to use
Heat-safe drawing mat. Check the temperature setting matches your filament (below).
Plug the cable into the pen and the USB supply into the wall — red light on.
Press Feed once. Wait for steady green (~1 min).
Cut the filament end square and straight, push it in at the back, hold Feed until plastic comes out.
Slow speed, hold Feed and draw. Release to stop.
Done: at temperature, hold Withdraw until the filament is fully out. Unplug, let it cool.
If you are printing with ABS, work in a well ventilated area.
First project: draw a 3 cm square outline, fill it with strands joined to the outline, let it harden and peel it off. Make a second and join them along an edge. Flat pieces assembled together are easier than drawing in the air.
Freehand: anchor the start, rise slowly, pause to let the strand stiffen. Brace frames with diagonals.
Temperature
Unplug, lift the small cover over the adjustment screw, turn it with the plastic screwdriver to the reference mark — PLA ≈ 190 °C, ABS ≈ 210 °C. Clockwise = hotter. Replace the cover. The marks are guides, not measured values — check before loading.
Changing colour
Stop, then fully unload with Withdraw (heated — press Feed and wait for steady green if it cooled). Load the new colour and purge until clean.
Don't use partial withdraw as a stop — it can leave a deformed piece inside. If it happens, unload fully and cut that piece off.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Try |
|---|---|
No power light | Check both cable ends and the adapter. |
Not heating | Press Feed. Light never steady → report. |
Motor turns, no plastic | Wait for steady green; fresh square-cut end; faster speed while loading. |
Motor clicks or struggles | Stop. Unload fully when hot, reload with a fresh end. |
Won't unload | Don't force it — report. |
Small ooze after stopping | Normal for PLA. |
Lines droop or come loose | Slower, better anchor, let strands harden. |
Smoke, bubbling, burning smell | Stop and unplug. Report. |
After use
Unloaded, unplugged, cool. Keep pen, cable, adapter and screwdriver together. Seal leftover filament in a dry bag.
