	~~We ask all members to go through this miniature course before using the wood room.~~

	After taking this course you will have a good understanding of the basics of what to do and not to do in the wood room. This will keep the machines running longer and your fellow Makerspace members happier. You will also suffer less risk of hurting yourself, but be aware that you are responsible for researching what you need to know for your own personal safety.

	Along most walls, you will see blue metal bars sticking out from the walls. These are for storing your building material. Mark your material with a [[Memberbooth\|temporary storage sticker]], and you can store it the standard 60 days.

	In the corner, there are shelves dedicated to drying glue. Mark your items with the special drying storage sticker. Members may move items, or remove any clamps, after the sticker indicates that it should be dry.

	~~== What machines need a course ==~~

	Almost all machines in the wood room cut wood in one way or another, as such, they are all dangerous if not used properly. It is your responsibility to find information about how to safely use the machines that you want to use. YouTube is a fantastic resource for this.

	~~In addition to this, some machines are sensitive and can break if not used properly. For these, a special course is needed.~~

	~~[[Makersign\|Each machine has a sign]] explaining some basic information about it. The signs are colour-coded as a guide.~~

	* A green sign means the machine has a low risk of serious injury when using common sense.

	* An orange sign means that the there is a high risk of serious injury if not operated correctly.

	* A red sign means that the machine requires a course to use. Most often, this is because the machine can be damaged, or because it is very dangerous to use, if you don't know what you are doing.

	~~In the woodroom, there are four machines that require a course.~~

	* The two bandsaws, [[Bandsåg, EJCA BA45\|EJCA, green]] and [[Bandsåg, Pela MJ343B\|Pela, red]]: They have an online course you can take by scanning the QR code on the sign of the respective bandsaws.
	* [[Tormek T8\|The tormek t8 wet grinding machine]]: This also has an online course.
	* [[Bordssåg, Hammer K3 Winner\|The table saw]]: It requires an in-person course as using it the wrong way can cause damage to it or you.

	When drilling, do not put the material you want to drill directly on any of the work surfaces. Preferably, make sure that there is nothing underneath the point where you are drilling, for example by having the work piece stick out a bit from the work surface you are working on.

	~~If this is not possible, place a sufficiently thick piece of wood underneath the piece you want to drill in.~~

	~~Gluing should always be done on a piece of paper to protect the work surfaces, and should under no circumstanced be done on the surfaces of the large machines.~~
