Metal CNC
Metal CNC
First, read the basic info form the Terco CNC45 CNC-fräs.
Quickstart
- Connect the 3-phase power. A few of the green lights in the front should turn on.
- Press the green start button on the front. All green lights should turn on. An alarm should beep a few times (The water cooler startin) and a loid fan should start (The spindle driver)
- Start the computer and log in as cnc / cnc
- Start the LinuxCNC program
- In the top menu, select Machine -> Homing -> Home all
- Load your CNC file and start.
Remaining TODO
- Connect and adjust the mister for better cutting in aluminium.
- Measure the rotational speed of the spindle to see that it matches what is being sent.
- Test the precission/accuracy of the motor movements, recalibrate motor drivers if necessary.
- Find maximum suitable speeds / accelerations and configure LinuxCNC
- Configure LinuxCNC on the mini computer and switch over to use that one instead (Best done together with the large wood CNC which should have an identical computer with identical UI configuration)
- Mount the Z-probe and configure it
- Connect the 2 solenoids driving the mister directly to the relays in the electronics cabinet and control them from the mesa board and LinuxCNC
- Attach magnets to keep the electronics door shut
- Make some form of magnet or similar construction to keep the door from wobbling when the machine is moving.
