Jigsaws
Handheld jigsaws make curved cuts and quick irregular cut-outs. The supplied identification photographs show a Bosch GST 90 E and a Makita 4351-series saw whose complete model suffix is obscured.
Pass the Wood room course; follow the room rules. This guide covers wood use here. No metal, stone or stone-like materials; check the room rules before considering other materials. Felder takes wood dust only.
Choose the cut and blade
Choose a blade for the wood, thickness and finish; narrow blades suit tight curves. Support work and offcut without trapping the blade. Keep clear beneath the cut. Use a guided saw for accurate long straight cuts.

Unplug for blade changes and adjustments. This model uses T-shank blades. Hold the SDS lever fully forward, insert the blade until it clicks, check its back sits in the guide roller and check secure seating. Choose the shortest suitable blade that still clears the underside throughout its full stroke.
The slide switch starts and stops the saw; the thumbwheel preselects stroke rate. Start with the blade clear of the work, then enter the cut with the baseplate supported. Guide steadily without forcing the blade sideways. Switch off immediately if the blade jams. Wait for it to stop before lifting the saw from the cut. Keep the blade holder and vents clean; inspect and lubricate the guide roller as described in the Bosch instructions, English pp. 13–17.
Makita 4351-series — suffix pending
Model identification photo — Makita 4351-series, suffix obscured
Model identification photo: damaged Makita label. “4351” is visible; the suffix is not.
The photograph confirms the family; the exact variant remains unknown. Do not order parts, select a variant-specific manual or infer controls from a guessed suffix. Unplug before inspection, accessory changes and cleaning. Use a securely fitted blade confirmed to match the actual holder.
Identification follow-up: record the complete Makita model and matching manual in Woodshop — Open questions. The Bosch is identified; the Makita inventory entry remains partly unresolved.
