2.6 AMS auto-refill: a backup spool
Module 2 · Lesson 6 of 10 · about 1 min
This one is useful for everyone, even if you only ever print in one colour. Will your spool run out before a long print is done? Load a second, matching spool, and the printer switches to it by itself when the first one runs out, without stopping the print.
The two spools must match in brand, material, colour and temperature. The printer won't switch to anything else.
Both spools must be loaded before the print starts. You can't add a backup during a job.
If the printer finds no match when a spool runs out, it pauses and asks you to load a new one.
Turn it on in the filament tools on the printer's screen (Auto Refill).
It is also a good way to use up two half-empty spools of the same filament in one job.
Both of your spools come out of the AMS when the job is done.
