Maintenance and repairs log — Scheppach BSM 2010

Repair and maintenance history for the Scheppach BSM 2010. Routine checks, cleaning and operating instructions are on the machine page.

Dated reports describe what was known at the time. A reported repair does not establish the present condition of every part or resolve a later fault. Outstanding checks are collected in Woodshop open questions.

14 October 2026 — Machine, workstation and nameplate photographs recorded

New member-supplied photographs confirm the 2002 BSM 2010, article 81040000, number 9540 (unlabelled plate entry), with 3/PE 400 V AC, 50 Hz, 6.10 A, P1 3.60 kW / P2 2.90 kW, 2780 min⁻¹, 11 m/s belt speed and 2000 × 150 mm belt specification. The original plate and compact machine/workstation views are on the machine page.

The workstation view records belt storage above, the custom shared-tool drawers below, the main extraction hose at the left and the auxiliary black hood stored on the wall to the right. Status: identification and visible configuration recorded; no repair or functional test reported. The photographs do not establish fitted grit, belt serviceability, support clearances or measured extraction performance.

8 December 2025 — Belt-grit identification

A member asked whether the installed belt was 80 grit. The reply points to the label beneath the machine: 60 or 120 grit. Check the fitted belt and current label rather than assume one grit is permanently installed. Full thread.

5 July 2025 — Worn belts reported

The shared belts were reported badly worn and replacements requested. A reply identified spare stock above the mitre station at that time. Status: stock-location advice; no completed belt replacement or replenishment recorded in this thread. Storage may have changed; the machine guide uses the documented horizontal wall holder above the BSM and requires checking current stock. Discussion.

12 February 2025 — Shared abrasive policy

The local policy was clarified: shared 60-grit belts are for quick stock removal/shaping, 120-grit belts for removing saw marks and final shaping. Shared 240-grit belts were not provided because they wore out quickly. Status: policy statement, not confirmation of today's inventory or fitted belt. Clarification.

15 December 2024 — Belt storage and auxiliary extraction hood

Belts were moved to horizontal storage above the machine. A separate suction hood was added to improve collection near the rounded end of the belt and stored on the wall to the right. The photographs identify the yellow Scheppach BSM 2010 and show that local arrangement. Status: changes reported complete at that date; no measured extraction performance recorded. Report/photos.

Historical configuration photographs. Position and connect the hood only with instruction for the supported, guarded operation; the photos do not certify clearance or airflow.

9 November 2024 — Power cable fixed

A local report says the belt sander's power cable was fixed. The accompanying photograph shows the BSM, its cable and three-phase connector. Status: repair reported at that date; parts, electrical tests and qualified sign-off were not recorded. Do not infer a complete rewiring or a present-condition certification from the photo. Report/photo.
