Maintenance and repairs log — UB-100
Dated maintenance, condition reports and mounting history for the UB-100 bending tool. Keep practical operating information in the main guide.
15 October 2026 — documentation and condition-history review
The retained five-page Millart Machinery & Tools V1.0 manual was inspected and preserved. A public Toolots copy is byte-identical. The guide now includes the original cold/hot capacity table, labelled reference and local photographs, an illustrated Holzmann supplement, supplier demonstrations and attributed owner tips.
This documentation update is not a physical inspection, repair or load test. The public records reviewed do not confirm completion of the pin/die repairs discussed below. Check current condition and any more recent service record before loading the tool; do not use damaged or loose parts. Existing free-use, first-come and no-usage-log arrangements have been retained.
The Holzmann guide describes a similar supplier version. Its larger hot-bending figures, part numbers and replacement-part fit were not adopted as local specifications.
22–25 January 2026 — temporary remount and continuing condition concerns
In the 22–23 January discussion, Daniel Armyr photographed the bender and tooling box on the floor, then reported temporarily mounting it on the wall near the hydraulic press on 22 January.
Klas Meder described very poor condition on 23 January and was unsure whether the earlier work had been completed. Daniel agreed that it did not bend well but considered it useful for rough work. A removable horizontal mounting plate for a securely anchored bench vise was discussed; completion was not established.

Historical identification photograph before remounting; the floor position is not an operating setup.
Bullen's 25 January update describes improved bench anchoring and mentions the remounted bender. This is not confirmation of pin/die repair or completion of a horizontal vise adapter. The attached photographs in that post show bench anchors.
26 September–17 October 2025 — pin, pressure-plate and die damage
Klas Meder's 26 September report and October replies describe uneven bends, play in the moving pressure plate, an undersized/bent pin and wear on the small-radius bending block.
Klas reported removing burrs from the block, while missing material/wear remained. Making a better-fitting pin and repairing the pressure-plate arrangement were proposed, rather than reported complete.

Left to right: removed pin, pin/plate fit and worn bending block. These are dated condition photographs, not present measurements.
On 17 October, Bullen questioned the use of the smallest radius for the thick stock and discussed possible die/part repair. Klas noted that a suggested replacement version had a shorter pin and L-shaped plate, while the local plate was rectangular. Replacement interchangeability was not established. The discussion does not authorize welding dies, straightening pins or substituting an arbitrary steel grade.
15 April 2025 — local identification
Hannes Lilliefeldt identified the tool as Millart Universal Bender UB-100. This is consistent with the retained manual's brand. A readable machine plate, serial number or purchase record was not found in this review.
2024 — earlier location and material advice
16 January: Erik Cederberg described the tool on the wall where the Tormek normally stood. This earlier location was superseded by the January 2026 temporary remount.
5 November: AW5754 aluminium discussion: a member asked about 30 × 2 mm stock; Erik considered cold bending suitable, especially avoiding very sharp corners. The post is advice, not a recorded bend test or verified capacity for every temper/radius.
12 May 2020 — manual in the legacy wiki
The legacy file record records the UB-100 manual upload on this date. This establishes a documentation date, rather than the tool's purchase/manufacture date.
Checks and future service entries
Unresolved checks are tracked in Metal — Open questions. Record any actual inspection or repair here with the date, person, components/dimensions changed, checks performed and outcome. Keep proposals separate from completed work.
