Blades

  • Planned default: 10 mm wide, 10/14 TPI variable pitch.

  • Blade length: 2780–2980 mm according to the seller — measure before ordering.

  • Wider blade = straighter cuts. Narrow blade = tighter curves. Never force a blade around a curve tighter than its minimum radius.

  • Choose tooth pitch by wall thickness for tubes and profiles, by cut width for solid stock.

  • Guide inserts above and below the table must match the blade width.

  • New bimetal blades need a break-in with reduced feed.

Speed selection

Six speeds: three-speed gearbox × two-step belt. Change gear only when stopped. Power off before opening guards or moving the belt.

Safety

  • Eye and hearing protection, sturdy shoes. No gloves. Secure hair, jewellery, clothing.

  • Upper blade guard just above the work.

  • Use a push stick or clamp for small parts; use a fixture for round stock that can roll.

  • Never pull a stuck part backwards out of a running blade.

  • Never slow the blade by pressing material against it.

  • Never leave the saw running unattended.

How to use (after commissioning)

  1. Choose blade and speed for the material and thickness. No wood or composites.

  2. Power off: check blade condition, tension, tracking, guide inserts and guards.

  3. Set the upper guide just above the work and lock it.

  4. Support long stock. Clamp small or round parts in a fixture.

  5. Start, let the blade reach speed, then feed smoothly. Don't force the feed.

  6. If the blade wanders, binds or overheats: stop, wait for a full stop, power off and investigate.

  7. Stop and wait for the blade to stop before removing parts or offcuts.

  8. Clean with brush or vacuum (not compressed air). Report blade damage.

Blade welder

The saw has an IDEAL blade welder and grinding unit for joining blade loops. The weld must be ground to blade thickness so it passes the guides. Not in use until checked as part of the electrical overhaul.

Maintenance

  • Power off before blade changes, guide adjustment, belt access or service.

  • Inspect blade, guide inserts, wheel tyres and belt regularly.

  • Gearbox oil level is checked per the original manual. Don't add oil without knowing the correct grade.

  • Maintenance and repairs log
