Maintenance and repairs log — Mössner Rekord SM/400

Dated acquisition, overhaul and service records for the Mössner Rekord SM/400 machine guide. Machine number 13296; built 1964.

The machine is undergoing an electrical overhaul. This log records reported work and future checks; no completed commissioning or release for member use has yet been recorded.

14 October 2026 — video-based instruction and planned shared setup

A member supplied Vertical Bandsaw — Colorado School of Mines as the basis for an operating instruction. Its English automatic captions were retrieved and used to prepare timestamped paraphrased notes and expand the main guide's after-commissioning procedure.

The member confirmed the intended arrangement: one shared Metal-room bandsaw, the Mössner, with a likely default 10 mm wide, variable 10/14 TPI blade. This records a plan, rather than an installed-blade inspection or order. Blade maker/construction, thickness, actual loop length, matched guide inserts and limits for material, section and radius still need recording.

The instruction uses the local six-speed drive and width-matched guides, and retains the electrical-overhaul restriction. The source institution's separate-saw setup, fixture inventory and button/adjustment locations were not adopted as local facts.

No commissioning completion, blade installation or physical repair was reported with this documentation update.

Acquisition and delivery — date to record

Stockholm Makerspace purchased the machine used from WMT GmbH & Co. KG, Velen, Germany. The matching seller reference is 1108-38982. The exact order, delivery and purchase-cost details have not been supplied.

The first supplied photograph shows the saw immediately after delivery, still in plastic wrap.

13 October 2026 — moved into Metal; electrical overhaul in progress

The saw has been moved into the Metal workshop. The member reports an electrical overhaul to ensure safe operation. The photograph shows the machine during this work, with the lower cover open and parts/documents on the table.

The overhaul has not been reported complete. No particular failed component, wiring change or electrical test result is inferred from the photograph.

Seller's advert — before delivery

The member supplied this photograph from WMT's advert. The recovered WMT datasheet also contains this image and the same identification, speed and IDEAL welder photographs.

WMT's advertised figures: 400 mm throat, 400 mm wheels, 610 × 500 mm table, blade length 2780–2980 mm, speeds 22–147 m/min, mass approximately 400 kg, overall size approximately 0.6 × 0.8 × 1.9 m. These are supplier figures, not commissioning measurements. Check blade fit before ordering.

Commissioning record — to complete

  • Record the completed electrical work, person/date, final supply and motor/welder/light ratings, protective-earth and insulation checks, cable condition and electrical protection.

  • Demonstrate and record isolation, normal start/stop, emergency stop and behaviour after loss/restoration of power. Check the guards and any fitted interlocks; identify the final controls after the overhaul.

  • Check stability, wheel tyres, bearings, belts, tracking, blade tension, table insert, upper/lower blade guides and guard adjustment.

  • Measure blade length/tension range and permitted width/thickness; inventory matching guide inserts and fitted blade material/tooth pitch. Document gearbox/belt selection and check actual speeds.

  • Identify the IDEAL welder and grinding unit; obtain their matching instructions and establish welding, annealing, dressing and inspection for the intended blade stock.

  • Record lubrication grades/levels and service intervals, cutting tests, remaining restrictions and the member instruction/booking/fee/logging arrangements. Update the main page when the machine is ready.

Adding later entries

Record date, symptoms, work performed, parts or settings changed, checks/results, remaining work and person responsible. Keep proposed work separate from completed repairs.

Initial record created on 14 October 2026 from the member's photographs and acquisition/overhaul description, identification plates and matching WMT datasheet.
