Paper cutter — Dahle (dark grey)

Keep fingers out of the blade path. Use only with the protective bar fitted. Stop if the arm drops on its own or anything is loose.

Manual lever (guillotine) paper cutter with a dark-grey metal bed, white alignment lines and black handle. For general paper jobs, the blue Dahle 565 is preferred.

The removable protective bar is missing in this photo — it must be fitted when cutting.

Materials

  • Yes: paper, thin card. Start with one sheet.

  • No: circuit board, metal, hard or abrasive sheet. Remove staples and clips.

How to use

  1. Stable, clear table. Check feet, pivot, handle and protective bar (with its white fasteners).

  2. Raise the handle under control. Align the paper with the guides and your measured marks — hands out of the blade path.

  3. Test cut one sheet. Lower the handle smoothly; stop if the paper folds or it needs force.

  4. Check size and squareness.

  5. Leave the arm down. Clear scraps, return it. Carry it by the base, not the handle.

Maintenance

Wipe the bed, keep it dry. Don't oil, adjust the pivot or sharpen — report poor cutting.
