Router table — 2.2 kW spindle and Wnew lift
Router table course and Wood room course required. Black main power OFF before touching the cutter. Feed against the rotation.
Router table with a 2.2 kW spindle under the table on a Wnew lift, for edges, grooves, rebates and profiles.

Location | |
Access | |
Spindle | 2.2 kW, air-cooled, max 24,000 rpm |
Collets | ER20 |
Collet torque | 40 Nm (set 5 Oct 2026) |
Help / faults | Slack #trärummet-woodroom |
Known issue: intermittent restart problems and slow stopping at high speed (reported July 2026). Keep clear until the cutter has fully stopped. Never hand-start the spindle.
Materials
Yes: wood and plastics.
No: reclaimed/pallet wood, pressure-treated wood, metal, stone.
Plastics: the shared Felder extractor is for wood only — ask about collection before routing plastic.
Sound, clean stock; glue fully cured; one piece at a time.
Controls
Control | Function |
|---|---|
Black switch | Main power — OFF for all cutter changes and setup |
Green | START |
Red | STOP (not enough for tool changes) |
Blue light | Indicator |
Knob | Speed |
Don't change VFD settings, reverse rotation or touch the wiring.

Enjoywood 700 mm fence (with flip stops) | Below the router table |
Enjoywood coping sled | On the wall beside the torque wrenches |
Router bits | Drawer unit below the belt sander |
ER20 collets and nuts | Labelled holder in the router table drawer |
Lift crank and insert rings | Right-hand router table drawer |
21 mm spindle wrench and torque wrench | Wall holder beside the coping sled |
Enjoywood fence fitted to the table
Coping sled in the front rail

Collets and nuts
Shank | Nut |
|---|---|
6 mm | Dust-sealed nut 6 |
8 mm | Dust-sealed nut 8 |
12 mm | Dust-sealed nut 12 |
1/8", 1/4", 1/2" | Universal nut (slot UNIV) |
The 6/8/12 nuts only fit their exact metric size. Imperial ≠ metric: 1/4" = 6.35 mm, 1/2" = 12.7 mm.

Changing the cutter
Red STOP, wait for standstill, black main power OFF.
Raise the spindle with the crank.
Hold the spindle flats with the 21 mm wrench, loosen the nut with the other wrench. Never counterhold on the cutter or motor.
Clean and inspect spindle taper, threads, nut, collet and cutter shank. Check the cutter's max rpm.
Pick the collet and nut from the table above. Snap the collet into the nut first, then thread the nut onto the spindle by hand a few turns.
Insert the cutter, at least 2/3 of the collet length (or the cutter's marking). Don't grip on the flutes or bottom out the shank.
Hold the spindle and tighten with the torque wrench to the first click (40 Nm). Remove both wrenches and the crank.
Never tighten a collet without a cutter in it.
ER collet assembly: snap the collet into the nut
Safety
Eye and hearing protection. No gloves. Secure hair, clothing and jewellery.
Feed against the rotation. The cutter turns counter-clockwise seen from above: for an edge pass along the fence, feed right to left. Never climb-cut.
Never trap work between the fence and cutter.
No freehand routing. Use the fence, guard, push blocks, featherboards or a jig.
Never push work backwards through a running cut.
Never stop the cutter by hand or with wood.
How to use
Power OFF: set height, lock the lift and fence. Fit the smallest insert ring that clears the cutter. Turn the cutter by hand to check clearance.
Fit the fence faces close to the cutter, guard, push blocks and featherboards. Clamp small work in a jig. Shallow passes.
Set speed for the cutter size and material — large cutters need lower speed.
Connect extraction, open the gate, check suction.
Black power ON, green START, wait for full speed.
Feed right to left against the fence, steadily, hands clear.
Finish the pass, clear the work, turn the speed down, red STOP. Wait for full stop. In an emergency, hit STOP immediately.
Coping sled: slides in the front rail. Clamp the work, check full travel clearance with power off, keep hands on the handles.
Fence flip stops: for repeat positioning — get the setup demonstrated. Never trap work between a stop and the cutter.
Template, bearing-guided, stopped-groove and end-grain work need their own jigs and instruction.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Action |
|---|---|
Slow or unreliable stop | Keep clear until stopped; report. |
Motor hums, won't spin or gets hot | STOP, black OFF, mark out of service. Don't hand-start or keep retrying. |
Cutter slips, nut binds, damaged thread | Power OFF, take out of use. Don't force the nut. |
Chatter, vibration, cutting height changes | Stop; check cutter, lift mounting and height lock. |
Burning, poor finish | Check sharpness, speed, feed and depth. |
VFD fault or repeated trip | Note the code and report. Don't reset parameters. |
Weak suction | Stop; power off before clearing blockages. |
After use
Black power OFF, remove the bit, lower the spindle.
Vacuum the table, floor, inside surfaces and lift threads.
Return the fence, sled, bits, wrenches, collets, nuts and crank to their places.
Maintenance
Lift: remove sawdust and wipe clean; rust-preventive oil on shaft sleeves for long storage. No petrol, thinners or abrasives (Wnew manual PDF p. 24). Height lock adjustment: PDF p. 21.
Keep the spindle's cooling airflow clear.
Runout, threads, lift, cooling and stopping checks: maintainers. VFD/electrical: qualified people only — the drive holds charge after switch-off.
